Mercedes Moné will defend the gold at AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash.
In recent weeks, Anna Jay has set her sights on winning gold. After unsuccessfully challenging Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship, she has targeted the TBS Championship.
On the December 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jay defeated Penelope Ford. She then called out TBS Champion Mercedes Moné. Moné told Jay to come back in ten years when she had actually done something in the business. Jay slapped Moné, and the champion left, saying they would face each other on her time.
The broadcast team then confirmed that Mercedes Moné will defend the title against Anna Jay at AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash on December 18.
The Holiday Bash special episode will also feature a Continental Classic match between Will Ospreay and Darby Allin. As of this writing, no other matches or segments have been announced.
