Dustin Rhodes has had enough of fans complaining on Twitter about AEW.
There is no doubt that the company has been in a slump for at least the past couple of months. Ratings have dropped from their high of over a million a week to just 536,000 for last week’s episodes.
In addition, attendance is down as there is a growing apathy amongst fans, whereas shows used to be must-watch on a weekly basis. Things aren’t going all too smoothly for Tony Khan, but Dustin Rhodes has had enough of listening to it on Twitter.
Dustin Rhodes took to social media to talk to the fans about their constant criticism of AEW. The wrestler, who debuted for AEW on their first-ever show at Double or Nothing 2019, told fans to simply enjoy the wrestling and stop attacking the wrestlers online.
He added that AEW has “the most passionate wrestlers in the world” and ended by saying he loves wrestling and thinks the fans should too.
“Here’s a thought…….Just enjoy Wrestling. Please stop the constant attacking and vitriol towards us. We have the most passionate wrestlers in the world. We do this for you. #IAmWithAEW @AEW and I love and watch ALL wrestling.”
Dustin Rhodes Calls Tony Khan One Of His Greatest Bosses
Dustin Rhodes spoke with WFAA and he was asked about working with Tony Khan. He called the AEW president “one of the greatest bosses” he’s worked under, and compared life in AEW to his time wrestling in the WWE.
“Tony Khan is one of the greatest bosses I’ve ever worked for. Very different than the other company, right? AEW is a very special place, and yeah, we are growing, it’s only five years in the business, and we’re doing some amazing stuff. We have some amazing talent and a large roster.”
“Just having a relationship with Tony means a lot, because in the other place, it’s not like that. It’s very different — you’re walking on eggshells. I don’t know if it’s still that way, but that’s part of the reason I left, because my passion left me. That passion was reignited here at our first Double or Nothing.”
“So I’m an OG here, man. I’ve been here since the creation, and I love it, I don’t see myself stepping away.” Dustin Rhodes added.
