The field for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match at WWE NXT Deadline is now complete, as Eddy Thorpe has qualified.
On the December 3 episode of WWE NXT, Eddy Thorpe faced Lexis King, Axiom, and Cedric Alexander in a Last Chance Qualifying Match. All four competitors went back and forth in a hard-fought match, and in the end, Thorpe pulled Axiom out of the ring and pinned King for the win.
With the win, Thorpe joined Wes Lee, Je’Von Evans, Nathan Frazer, and Ethan Page in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match at WWE NXT Deadline. The winner of the match will earn a shot at the NXT Championship. As of this writing, Trick Williams holds the gold.
Update: Thorpe was attacked backstage at the end of the show, leaving his status for NXT Deadline in doubt.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
Ethan Page On NXT Deadline
In an interview with WrestleZone, Ethan Page discussed the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline and made it clear that he aimed to win.
“I’m going to do things that no one else will do to win. One of them is to wrestle for 18 years straight and become as good as I am. No one else in the match is going to do that in the match. No one else is going to cheat. Do you think I give a crap morally? No. No, I like winning,” Page explained. “The fans should like winners, but they love losers. So that’s what’s going to happen. I’m going to beat Axiom and then embarrass Je’Von Evans. That, to me, would fill my heart, and that’s all I’m in wrestling for — myself. I’m sick of these other dorks.”
