Dakota Kai thinks she deserves to be the Intercontinental Champion.
The Kiwi star beat both Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler in a triple-threat match on Raw this week. This was part of the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
She made it through to the next round of the tournament in an attempt to achieve a career goal of hers. Dakota Kai has never won a singles championship in the WWE so becoming the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion would be a huge feather in her cap.
In a Raw Exclusive interview with Cathy Kelley on YouTube, Dakota Kai celebrated her victory on Raw. She explained how the one thing she has missed out on is winning singles gold.
Dakota Kai added how “pumped” she was after the win. The Damage CTRL member also claimed she deserved to win the Intercontinental Championship for her skill and hard work.
“Cathy, my God, I’m so pumped! I mean, you know more than anyone how my journey has been filled with ups and downs, ins and outs. But if there’s one thing that’s evaded me during my whole time in this company, it’s singles championship gold.” Dakota Kai said.
“And that IC Championship? It would look so good around my waist. It’s in my crosshairs right now. It’s my time, it’s my time! I can’t wait to prove to everyone — and to myself — that I deserve this more than anything. I’m so pumped. I’m a little sore, though. Yeah, maybe I need to lie down or get an ice pack. Do you have one?”
Dakota Kai advanced to the semi-finals of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. She will face the winner of Zoey Stark, Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter in their triple-threat match. That match will take place on Raw.
