Lee Moriarty thinks the Hurt Syndicate trio is ‘the total package’.
Ever since their debut in AEW, the Hurt Syndicate has been one of the most impressive teams in the promotion. MVP leads Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in the group and has so far guided them to relative success in the ring.
Bobby Lashley beat Swerve Strickland at AEW Full Gear 2024, while Shelton Benjamin has impressed so far in his run in the Continental Classic tournament. They have all looked good in their short run so far, at least according to Lee Moriarty.
Lee Moriarty recently spoke with Scott Fishman for SEScoops. He discussed how he’s inspired by the Hurt Syndicate and was full of compliments for the group. The ROH Pure Champion called the trio “three of the most valuable talents in the world” in a glowing review of their first few weeks in AEW. He added that they have inspired him in both wrestling and art, showing their incredible reach in multiple industries.
“I think they are three of the most valuable talents in the world,” he said. “They have the total package. The presentation, athleticism confidence. They inspire me to do what I’m doing in professional wrestling and my art. It’s to not settle and not just be comfortable in the spot I’m in but continue to grow as a business and brand.”
Lee Moriarty On The Wrestlers He Learned From In AEW
Lee Moriaty also trained and learned from a number of wrestlers in AEW.
He mentioned Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy and Nigel McGuinness as wrestlers who have helped him in his run so far.
“There was a period I was learning from Jon Moxley for a while,” he said. “There was a period I was learning from Claudio when we were donig the Texas shows. For three straight weeks, I was getting advice from him. Orange Cassidy is someone I would go to a lot. Serpentico, Jon Cruz, those guys I learned from a lot. So many people.”
“I trained at Malakai Black’s school for a point. I’m very grateful and can’t express how much it meant. Even when Nigel McGuinness came back to the ring, I was in the ring training with him. I can’t express the appreciation I have that these guys are giving me the time to learn from them.”
