Natalya: I’m Ready To Make History As The First WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion

Natalya will compete in the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, and she says she’s ready to make history.

In a recent post on social media, Natalya said that she’s fought to be a champion her entire career, and she has set world records. Now, she has a new goal, which is to make history as the first WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

“I have fought to be a champion my entire career; acquiring 6 world records for outworking every woman that’s ever stepped foot in [WWE],” said Natalya. “I want what I hope every person in this company wants, WHICH IS TO MATTER. I’m ready to make history as the first ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.”

Natalya’s first step in that journey will be competing in a Triple Threat Match against Kairi Sane and Alba Fyre, with the winner moving on to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Liv Morgan Praises Natalya

WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan recently spoke highly of Natalya. Speaking with Billboard, she highlighted Natalya’s contributions to WWE.

“[Natalya] is such a martyr in this women’s division. She’s the past, the present and the future,” Morgan said. “She’s been with WWE for almost 18 years. Do you know how incredible that is and what an incredible career that is? I think she’s the most decorated woman in WWE history. I think she has the most wins, the most matches for any woman in WWE and she gets better as she goes along.

“She trains at The Dungeon with [her husband] TJ weekly, curating and securing the next generation of superstars. She’s been a part of so many firsts and so many historic moments. Like I said, she gets better over time and I think there’s something to say for that. We all should aspire to have a career like Natalya. She’s the best in the locker room and I just love her. I’m grateful for her. She’s the GOAT.”
