Report: Update On Big E’s WWE Contract Status

Big E has not wrestled since 2022, and a new report provides an update on his contract status with WWE.

In March 2022, Big E fractured two cervical vertebrae on a botched suplex by Ridge Holland. His future as an in-ring competitor has been unclear ever since. Over the past year or so, he has increasingly worked as a panelist at WWE premium live events, and he has made other appearances as well.

Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods of the New Day previously signed five-year deals in 2019 that lasted until the end of 2024, but due to his injury, Big E’s status has been uncertain.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that there is no word on any injury time added, or any re-signings of extensions. However, regarding Big E’s deal, sources in WWE said that they did not believe that injury time was added to his deal as of this summer.

There is no word as to whether he had re-signed or agreed to a new deal since then. However, because his previous contract was as an in-ring talent, it would make sense for the company to not add injury time. Big E’s non-wrestling appearances have counted towards his deal.

Fans have speculated about Big E recently due to the New Day celebrating their tenth anniversary on the December 2 episode of WWE RAW.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
