Kota Ibushi says he’s at the end of his legs.
Ibushi has dealt with injuries in recent years, but he has wrestled a handful of matches in 2024. He missed several months due to an ankle injury in January, but he returned to the ring in July.
In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Kota Ibushi commented on his health. (Translation via DeepL)
“I’m at the end of my legs, and it could end at any time. I wanted to preserve the time I had left before I couldn’t do it anymore, and that’s why I was allowed to participate today,” Nash said. “I’m really on the edge, but I want to finish contributing to the world of pro wrestling, so I’m participating in various events.”
Ibushi has been absent from AEW television since November 2023. He has said that he plans to return, but there is no word on when that will be. Ibushi briefly commented on his status with the company in the interview.
“AEW will be getting visas again next year, but I thought that the Japanese wrestling industry was somehow going down, and I wanted to raise it up,” he said. “That’s why we are doing everything for free this time.”
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
