Sheamus has shown off his scars from his match at Survivor Series this week.
The former WWE Champion competed in a three-way match for the Intercontinental Championship on the show. He faced off against Ludwig Kaiser and Bron Breakker for the coveted title. This is the final belt he needs to complete the WWE Grand Slam.
Sadly, Sheamus failed to take home the gold. He did get a souvenir of his own, although it was one he’d have rather he didn’t. The Irish boasted some brutal wounds on his back after the match and gleefully showed them off on social media.
During the match, Sheamus suffered an attack from Ludwig Kaiser. The German attacked him with his own Shillelagh, the knobbed wooden stick which was famously used by Finlay during his WWE run.
After being pinned by Bron Breakker in the end of the match, Sheamus took to Twitter to show off his scars from the attack. He posted a photo of the bloody scars all over his back and arm.
Sheamus added the simple caption, “Survivor”, showing how tough he was to take those shots and still come out alive from Survivor Series.
Sheamus Signed A New WWE Contract In September
Despite failing to win the title at Survivor Series, Sheamus isn’t leaving the WWE any time soon.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Pat McAfee announced that Sheamus had officially signed an extension with WWE.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) confirmed the news with WWE sources. He wrote that the veteran’s contract was set to expire earlier in 2024, but it was extended due to injury time. Sapp writes that the new deal is multi-year in length.
Sheamus, 46, started making appearances as an extra for WWE in 2006, and he signed a developmental deal with the company in 2007. He made his televised debut in 2009. Sheamus won the WWE Championship at WWE TLC 2009. Since then, he has won many titles; he has become a four-time world champion.
