Report: Details On Matt Riddle’s Appearance At TNA Turning Point

Matt Riddle made his TNA debut at TNA Turning Point. A new report provides an update on the situation.

At TNA Turning Point, Trey Miguel was set to team up with Zachary Wentz and KUSHIDA to face The Hardys and Ace Austin. Due to travel issues, Miguel was unable to make the show. Riddle was then revealed as his replacement for the match.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per sources, Matt Riddle found out not long before the show about being brought in, and he worked the event. Sapp cites TNA sources who said that the situation was not ideal, but they weren’t too worried because plenty of replacements were nearby. TNA Turning Point was held at WrestleCade, so many wrestlers were there.

Per Sapp, those in TNA were said to be happy about the live reception to Riddle’s debut. However, they would not commit to using him again in the future.

WWE released Matt Riddle in September 2023. Since then, he had a brief run in NJPW. He has been featured in MLW as well. Riddle is set to challenge for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at MLW Kings of Colosseum in January.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
