Rey Fenix offers a brief comment on his current situation amid rumors about his AEW contract.
As previously reported, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo were linked to WWE, and Penta claimed that he was in contact with WWE. AEW then added injury time to Fenix’s deal, which now extends into 2025. Meanwhile, Fightful Select reports that Penta is now a free agent. Fenix has been absent from AEW programming since July, and there is no word on creative plans for him.
In a post on Instagram, Rey Fenix commented on his situation. (H/t Fightful for the translation)
“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We must wait. Professionalism first and foremost, folks. We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out.
“Never diminish our work. There are things that should always be respected, and many are forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.”
Fenix is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Tag Team Champion. He has also captured the AEW World Trios Championship and the AEW International Championship.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Rey Fenix will return to AEW programming.
