Report: Penta El Zero Miedo Effectively A Free Agent After AEW Contract Expires

Penta El Zero Miedo is effectively a free agent, as his AEW contract is up, according to a new report.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) previously reported that Penta’s deal was set to be up soon. In an update, Sapp reports that, per sources, Penta’s contract is up, and he is now a free agent. However, his tag team partner, Rey Fenix, is not.

As previously reported, Penta and Fenix had been linked to WWE, and Penta had claimed that he had been in contact with WWE. AEW then added injury time to Fenix’s contract, which now extends well into 2025.

Now that he is a free agent, Penta has heavy interest on the independent scene, per Sapp. His future beyond that is unclear at this time.

Penta has heavy interest for marquee matches on the indies, which has been the case even through his AEW run.

Penta had been with AEW since 2019. He and Fenix had won the AEW World Tag Team Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. They also held the trios titles with PAC. Outside of AEW, Penta has won gold in AAA, IMPACT, Lucha Underground, and MLW, among other promotions. He is a former IMPACT World Champion.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
