AEW Collision Results
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with a Continental Classic match between Will Ospreay and Juice Robinson.
Continental Classic Gold League: Will Ospreay vs. Juice Robinson
- The finish of the match saw Will Ospreay hit Juice Robinson with the Hidden Blade to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Will Ospreay
Grade: B+
Great way to kick off Collision this afternoon. I would be shocked if we won’t be getting Ospreay and Okada in the finals at World’s End. But until then, I’ll very much enjoy the ride.
Mariah May explains her actions
Backstage Mariah May is in the interview area where she attacked Mina Shirakawa on Dynamite. May says she didn’t break up with Mina and claims they are closer than ever. May hypes up her match against Mina next month at the Winter is Coming special for Dynamite.
MxM Collection and Johnny TV vs. Private Party and Mistico
- The finish of the match saw Private Party hit Gin N’ Juice on Johnny TV. Isiah Kassidy picked up the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: Private Party and Mistico
Grade: B
Fun trios match. Mistico and Private Party was a unique combination you wouldn’t expect to see usually. The pairing of MxM and Johnny TV is great and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
Anna Jay teases her next opponent
Anna Jay is backstage with Lexy Nair. Jay says just because she can’t challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship again until Mariah May loses it doesn’t mean she can’t go after another one. Jay teases the idea of going after Mercedes Mone’s TBS Championship but doesn’t call her or the title out by name.
Continental Classic Blue League: Kyle Fletcher vs. The Beast Mortos
- The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit The Beast Mortos with the Sheer drop Brainbuster to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
Grade: A-
This was a hard hitting affair. Fletcher and Mortos work very well together. This was a really great match. The Continental Classic is so much fun. I’m glad that it’s back for a second year.
The Kingdom plead their case to Kyle O’Reilly on AEW Collision
The Kingdom are backstage with Kyle O’Reilly. Taven and Bennett run down their recent history and why they should trust them to do things their way. O’Reilly says he respects their plan and walks away leaving Bennett and Taven confused.
Who will accept Konosuke Takeshita’s challenge?
Don Callis and AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita are backstage. Takeshita seemingly issues an open challenge for someone to step up and challenge him for the International Title.
The Outrunners vs. Iron Savages (w/ Jacked Jameson)
- The finish of the match saw The Outrunners hit a double team move on Bronson to score the pinfall victory.
Winners: The Outrunners
After the match, FTR come to the ring and the two teams shake hands.
Grade: C+
The match is what it was. Not really much to say about it to be honest. The clear story here is that it seems pretty clear to me that FTR are set to turn heel sooner rather than later on The Outrunners. They haven’t been doing much with Dax and Cash lately so hopefully a heel turn will get them back on track in 2025.
Max Caster is dumber than he looks
Backstage Max Caster is with Lexy Nair. Caster challenges Swerve Strickland to a match on AEW Dynamite. After the ass kicking he got a few days ago, this is hilarious to me. Caster should have taken the L and move on, instead he’s gonna get destroyed two weeks in a row. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta
- The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Wheeler Yuta with Deadeye to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Hangman Page
After the match, as the Death Riders watch on from the crowd, Page continues to assault Yuta. Page grabs a steel chair and places it on Yuta’s neck and the Death Riders don’t move. Jay White comes to the ring with a chair of his own and Page bails. White hits Yuta with the Bladerunner and does the gun taunt towards the Death Riders in the crowd who choose to leave instead of coming to ringside to assist Yuta.
Grade: B+
The match itself was very good, but the continued story where it’s very much implied that the Death Riders are just using Wheeler Yuta and don’t care about his wellbeing at all. It’s unclear why White would stop Page from injuring Yuta, but perhaps we’ll get an answer to that question sooner rather than later.
Christopher Daniels confronts Hangman Page
Backstage Lexy Nair tries to get a word with Hangman Page, but he blows her off. Page is confronted by Christopher Daniels who tries to get him to let the past go to become the leader AEW needs right now against the Death Riders. Page screams at Daniels and says if what he would be doing the same thing if the same thing happened to him. Hangman says he’s not looking for advice from an old man.
Mina Shirakawa vs. Leila Grey
- The finish of the match saw Mina Shirakawa hit Leila Grey with the Glamorous Driver to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Mina Shirakawa
Grade: B+
Very good match between Mina and Leila. I’m very disappointed Mina’s match with Mariah will take place on Dynamite instead of World’s End. I feel that really telegraphs the result of the match well ahead of time. I just can’t see a title change taking place on Dynamite right now. By all means, feel free to prove me wrong.
Willow Nightingale returns to AEW Collision
Willow Nightingale is backstage with Lexy Nair. Nightingale talks about her surprise return at Full Gear and her desire to take part in the International Women’s Cup match at the NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view on January 5.
Continental Classic Blue League: Kazuchika Okada vs. Daniel Garcia
- Okada and Garcia wrestle to the 20-minute time limit. The match is a draw.
Winner: A draw
Grade: A
Due to the draw, both Garcia and Okada earn one point each as AEW Collision goes off the air.
AEW Collision Review:
I thought this was a pretty good show. The Continental Classic being back really helped make this show what it was. The next several weeks of TV will greatly benefit from this tournament being back. There really wasn’t a bad match on tonight’s show and they did a good job of building matches for the next few weeks of television.
Grade: B+
