Report: Creative Discussions About Drew McIntyre’s WWE Return Have Started

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE programming for over a month, but a new report provides an update about his return.

McIntyre has not wrestled since WWE Bad Blood. There, he lost to CM Punk in a Hell in a Cell match. McIntyre was busted open in the match, and he required stables afterwards to close the wound.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that creative discussions have started regarding when and how Drew McIntyre. Per Johnson, nothing has been set in stone, but there have been pitches and conversation for what the direction will be, so he is closer to returning.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Drew McIntyre On His Future

Ahead of WWE Bad Blood, McIntyre spoke with Rick Ucchino for The Takedown on Sports Illustrated. In one highlight, he commented on his future.

“Whatever I do next, I’ve already told [WWE creative] you’re not gonna find something like this [feud], because this is legitimate hatred, but I better have something I can buy into,” he said. “That’s based in truth. That I can really have fun with, because you see what can happen if you give me something I truly believe in.”
