Eddie Kingston knows what’s up.
PWInsider.com is reporting that Kingston has been “furiously” pushing himself through physical therapy in the hopes of getting back in the ring as soon as possible. However, it was noted that despite Kingston’s best efforts, doctors warned him that he likely won’t get cleared to return to the ring until June 2025.
When asked for comment on the situation, Eddie Kingston told PWInsider, “Health insurance is a scam.”
Eddie Kingston has been sidelined since May after breaking his tibia and tearing his ACL and meniscus. The injury took place during his NJPW STRONG Openweight Title No Rope Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW STRONG Resurgence on May 11.
Eddie Kingston isn’t sure AEW needs him right now
In September, Kingston told The DAVINci Report he was “starting to get itchy” sitting at home. However, he gave an outside perspective and said that he doesn’t really think the company needs him right now.
“To be honest, AEW right now doesn’t really need me at this point in time. In my opinion, with what’s going on,” Eddie Kingston said. “They are doing their thing. I think having me around right now may mess up some plans, which I like doing, but also trying to be a company guy. I’m trying. You don’t want to mess up the plans too much. Especially when it’s good.
“I don’t know what’s going on with [Jon Moxley], I haven’t talked to him in three or four months. I don’t know what’s going on with him with this whole Darby (Allin) thing. [But] I knew something was up because we text each other at least once or twice a week, just funny stuff, nothing about wrestling. A funny meme or a stupid Instagram thing, just to make each other laugh. He’s doing his thing. I have nothing against what he’s doing. (I’m) not needed right now, I don’t think.”
