Goldberg: I Get To Help Plan My Last Match, That’s Pretty Awesome

Goldberg appreciates being given the opportunity to help plan his last match.

As previously announced, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg will have his last match in 2025. This will mark his return to the ring for the first time since 2022.

Speaking on his CarCast podcast, Goldberg noted that he had a part in planning his last match, and he was grateful.

“There are few things in the world that younger the opportunity to plan out yourself, as far as an endgame, like the finality,” he said. “I get to help plan it. That’s pretty awesome. So that in and of itself puts me in a position where I’m forever grateful.”

Goldberg On Preparing For Last Match

During the podcast, Goldberg also emphasized that he had plenty of time to prepare for his return to the ring.

“I’ll have a long time to recover after this one, so I’m putting it all out there on the line,” Goldberg said. “The fact is, I’ve got a number of months to get ready for something that will take 15 minutes in the ring. The preparation always is much harder than the performance. But at the end of the day, you just try to do whatever you know and whatever is at your fingertips to prepare for whatever you’re about to embark on. Again, I don’t give a flying fart if I’m 58 years old.

“This time I’m actually getting some prep time. I’m actually getting the ability to get ready, so comparatively, even though I’m at the age that I’m at, I will have five times as much time to prepare than I ever have in any other match. So if I can’t get ready in that period of time, with what I have to offer, then it’s not gonna be enough. But I do believe that I set my standards quite high, and at the end of the day, I think people will be more than pleasantly surprised with the outcome of my performance.”
