The Young Bucks want the gold.
In a video message, AEW stars the Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) made it clear that they wanted to challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. They said that winning the titles was the last thing they needed to do before they retired.
The Young Bucks held the IWGP Tag Team Championship during their previous run in NJPW. They are also former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions.
Great O-Khan and HENARE currently hold the IWGP Tag Team Championship. They won the gold by beating TMDK at NJPW Power Struggle.
The Young Bucks are not the only AEW stars set to compete at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. Keny Omega, Jack Perry, Claudio Castagnoli, and Ricochet have been confirmed for the show. An AEW representative will also compete in the International Women’s Cup.
