Tony Khan Hopes Bryan Danielson Will Wrestle In AEW Again

Tony Khan hopes Bryan Danielson will wrestle again for AEW.

The former WWE Champion put his full-time career on the line in his pursuit of the AEW Championship. Despite winning the belt at AEW All In 2024, Danielson lost it to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream before leaving to heal a long-standing neck injury.

His full-time wrestling career is now over and his final run in AEW was a huge boon for the company. This is similar to Sting, who wrestled his well-publicised final match against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution 2024.

Tony Khan was asked about Sting and Bryan Danielson’s retirements at the Full Gear post-show media scrum. He explained how those two nights were two of the best of his entire life. Tony Khan revealed how proud he was to help the two legends retire in the company he founded.

However, he added that there was one key difference between the pair. The fact that Sting is retired for good while Danielson only only retired from “full-time” wrestling means he may return to the ring in AEW in the future.

Tony Khan also said that this was AEW’s best year on PPV, thanks to matches like Sting and Bryan Danielson’s retirement.

Tony Khan On Bryan Danielson’s Retirement

“Bryan’s full-time wrestling career ended very differently than Sting’s, but there’s a lot of hope.” Tony Khan said. “Sting has said he’s done and ended his career on the highest note possible. With Bryan, his full-time career might be over, but I’m hopeful that someday, somehow, he’ll be back. Bryan seized the biggest moment AEW could put in front of him. His match with Swerve was incredible. The moment he had with his family was everything I ever wanted for him.”

“It’s heartbreaking how quickly it all got snatched away from us, but I’ll always remember that moment for Bryan. It was everything we’d ever wanted to see from him, and I hope someday, somehow, we’ll get another moment with him.”

“As for Sting, his farewell was a beautiful night—a true highlight for the company in what I believe is AEW’s greatest year on pay-per-view. You could stack four or five shows from this year against our very best. Those two nights—Sting at Revolution and Bryan Danielson at All In—are two of the greatest in AEW history.” Tony Khan added.
