WWE Hall of Famer Titus O’Neil has not wrestled since 2020. But he has not announced his retirement either.
Recently, while speaking on Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, Titus O’Neil shared that he does have the itch to get back in the ring. But at the moment he is focused on his movie projects and he aspires to succeed in Hollywood just like Batista, John Cena, and The Rock.
“I do get the itch to get back in the ring. I love competing, I love entertaining. But as I said in previous interviews, recently, if there is an opportunity that works well for me to do so, yeah, we’ll definitely do it. But I’m literally getting to do two or three other film projects. I’ve already did two film projects that will be coming out in 2025. I do desire to have a high level of success in Hollywood much like my fellow WWE stars that have made that jump including one of my best friends who got me into the business of wrestling, Dave Bautista.
“And I am really excited about that process of becoming that you know… I have some great people to follow. I’ve got some great people to lean on in John Cena, in Dave Bautista to ask questions and to get just to kind of the best practices to help me on this journey, much like how I would pick the brains of many of the veterans. When it came to wrestling, I would do the same thing. And fortunately for me, I have a lot of people that are already in Hollywood that are friends of mine. That can kind of help me continue developing in their journey. And also saying a good word here and there for different projects,” Titus O’Neil said.
O’Neil’s last match was a United States title loss to Bobby Lashley on the November 9, 2020 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW.
Titus O’Neil hasn’t had his last match
Titus O’Neil spoke with the media during a WWE Community event on SummerSlam 2023 weekend. During the scrum, he noted many of his accomplishments that took place outside of the ring. WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard followed up and asked O’Neil if he could narrow down his greatest in-ring accolade.
“I would call my greatest in-ring accomplishment winning the WWE Tag Team Championship. It was a very special night for both me and Darren Young. I got a chance to do it with legitimately one of my closest friends. [He’s] the first openly gay WWE Superstar and the way that he was able to be himself and be an inspiration to so many people,” O’Neil explained, “I would say being able to be part of that is definitely a highlight of my career.”
Titus O’Neil was also asked if he’s had his last match. Despite not competing in nearly three years at that point, he’s not shutting the door on his career yet.
“Have you seen my last match? I don’t think so,” Titus stated. “Again, like everything, you never say never in this business. And so I would consistently say no, I don’t think so, but time will tell.”
