Big Boom AJ suffered an injury at AEW Full Gear.
AJ faced QT Marshall on the Zero Hour pre-show, and he emerged victorious. The Rizzler and Big Justice of The Costco Guys got involved in the match as well.
In a tweet, AEW’s Anthony Bowens wrote that Big Boom AJ broke his foot during the match. He noted that AJ finished the match and fulfilled every pic and video request backstage hours afterwards.
AEW then confirmed that AJ broke his foot in a tweet. In the post, AEW wrote, “AEW looks forward to welcoming Big BOOM! A.J., Big Justice and the whole Costco Guys crew back anytime, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
As of this writing, there is no word on if or when Big Boom AJ will return to AEW.
Big Boom AJ On His Future
Even after suffering a broken foot, AJ participated in the post-show media scrum. In one highlight, he was asked whether his match was a one-off.
“I love it here, I do, I love it here, I loved every minute of this,” AJ said. “If I’m welcome back, I’m gonna be back, and I’m gonna bring the boom….I think I’m having a lot of fun where I am right now,” AJ said. “I think I’m really loving everything that Big Justice and I have an opportunity to do. Again, we talked about some of the creatures that we’ve been with. There’s a lot we’re doing right now.
“So I don’t think a championship run is in my future. I think that would take a lot of dedication that I’m not sure I have right now, but to be here at AEW and wrestle multiple times throughout the year and see where that goes, I think that’s kind of more of the direction I’m leaning.”
