Paul Heyman and CM Punk both returned on the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Heading into Friday night, Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline had come up empty in their search for a fifth man for their WarGames match against The Bloodline. Seth Rollins had rejected the group, and Reigns also shot down the idea of teaming with Cody Rhodes.
At the end of the show, Sikoa and his Bloodline called out Reigns and his group and demanded their surrender. Before Reigns could say anything, Paul Heyman made his return and noted that WarGames had to be five-on-five. He then revealed CM Punk as the OG Bloodline’s fifth man.
CM Punk came to the ring and joined forces with the OG Bloodline. They brawled with Sikoa and his group. Reigns and Punk stood tall, and they stared each other down. Heyman looked on in the background as WWE SmackDown came to a close.
Heyman had been absent since Sikoa’s Bloodline attacked him on the June 28 episode of WWE SmackDown. CM Punk had not appeared on WWE programming since the October 7 episode of WWE RAW, which came after his win over Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood.
