Mina Shirakawa: I Plan To Stay In The United States Until Mariah May’s Loneliness Is Gone

Mina Shirakawa comments on her current run in AEW.

STARDOM star Mina Shirakawa had a run in AEW earlier in 2024, and she faced Toni Storm at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. She returned on the November 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, and she is set to have a celebration with Mariah May at AEW Full Gear.

Speaking with Kristen Ashly for Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Mina Shirakawa was asked about the length of her trip to the United States.

“I’ve been making Mariah (May) wait a lot, and I plan to stay in the United States until her feelings of loneliness are gone,” Shirakawa said. “I’m here to celebrate her championship win and wrestle a lot of matches as [our team] Rose Gold.”

Shirakawa was also asked to comment on whether her friendship with May had changed since she turned on Toni Storm. She stated that it had not changed at all.

“Our friendship hasn’t changed in the slightest,” she said. “We’re still best friends forever. However, I am a little concerned that she’s acting a bit weird recently. But I think with me by her side, she’ll calm down again soon enough.

Shirakawa and Mariah May will face Nyla Rose and Harley Cameron on the November 22 episode of AEW Rampage.

Mina Shirakawa On Mariah May

In a previous interview with WrestleZone’s Troy Gonzales, Shirakawa commented on her plan to bring back the old Mariah May.

“I was really happy when Mariah became the AEW Women’s World Champion,” Shirakawa said. “As a former partner of Mariah’s, I was so proud to see how her hard work in Japan led her to emerging to the top so soon after arriving in AEW. But the sparkling, fungoing Mariah is gone.

“I believe I am the only one who can bring Mariah back. I want the old Mariah back. And I want the two of us to team up again and become the strongest women’s tag team in AEW. I can’t wait to go back to see Mariah.”
