Dustin Rhodes thinks very highly of his boss Tony Khan in AEW.
The former WWE star has worked for Tony Khan since joining the promotion in 2019. He came into the company for Double or Nothing 2019, wrestling his brother Cody Rhodes in one of the best matches in AEW history at the event.
Since then, Dustin Rhodes has been a constant presence in AEW and ROH under Tony Khan. He currently holds the ROH Tag Team Championships and the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships. He holds them with Sammy Guevara and the Von Erichs, respectively.
Dustin Rhodes spoke with WFAA and he was asked about working with Tony Khan. He called the AEW president “one of the greatest bosses” he’s worked under, and compared life in AEW to his time wrestling in the WWE.
He revealed that working in WWE killed his passion for wrestling. However, this was reignited under Tony Khan and Dustin Rhodes added that he doesn’t ever see himself leaving AEW.
“Tony Khan is one of the greatest bosses I’ve ever worked for. Very different than the other company, right? AEW is a very special place, and yeah, we are growing, it’s only five years in the business, and we’re doing some amazing stuff. We have some amazing talent and a large roster.”
“Just having a relationship with Tony means a lot, because in the other place, it’s not like that. It’s very different — you’re walking on eggshells. I don’t know if it’s still that way, but that’s part of the reason I left, because my passion left me. That passion was reignited here at our first Double or Nothing.”
“So I’m an OG here, man. I’ve been here since the creation, and I love it, I don’t see myself stepping away.” Dustin Rhodes added.
