Nikki Garcia and her ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev have officially settled their divorce, per TMZ.
According to the report, the couple went to mediation earlier this month and came to a divorce settlement. As a result, they are now officially divorced and no longer a married couple. TMZ‘s report noted that the decision to mediate the situation quickly came due to lawyer fees, as well as the overall situation being “emotionally draining.”
The report also states that Garcia and Chigvintsev are at least cooperating with each other, and a representative for Garcia stated that “Nikki’s number one priority has always been her son and privacy on the matter. She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received during this difficult time.”
It’s unclear exactly what the terms of the mediation were, but TMZ notes that Garcia and Chigvintsev will share custody of their four-year-old son, Matteo. Chigvintsev was also reportedly seeking spousal support from Garcia, but the former WWE star filed to have the court block that, leaving the situation’s solution unknown.
Garcia and Chigvintsev got divorced after Chigvintsev’s August arrest on suspicion of domestic violence. At the time, deputies in the Napa County Sheriff’s Office arrested the Dancing With the Stars performer after injuries had been observed at the scene. Garcia declined to press charges, however, and the duo have also reportedly dismissed their restraining orders against each other as part of the divorce.
