WWE might have let The Rated R Superstar slip through their fingers, but they aren’t making the same mistake with Edge.
Adam Copeland departed WWE in the Summer of 2023 and found himself in All Elite Wrestling months later. Although he couldn’t utilize the Edge moniker, he was able to use the Rated R Superstar nickname due to WWE abandoning the trademark back in 2020.
However, WWE isn’t going to let that same thing happen with the name Edge. The company filed a new trademark for the name with the USPTO on November 19.
The description of the trademark is as follows:
Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal.
Meanwhile, Copeland is still sidelined with an injury and it’s unknown when he’ll return to All Elite Wrestling.
