Linda McMahon Nominated As Secretary Of Education In Donald Trump Cabinet

Linda McMahon is set to have a role in President-elect Donald Trump‘s Cabinet.

Kristen Holmes, Kaitlan Collins, and John Towfighi of CNN reports that Linda McMahon, Trump’s transition co-chair, is “expected to be named” as the U.S. Secretary of Education, per sources familiar with the matter.

During Trump’s first term, Linda McMahon served as the administrator of the Small Business Administration until she resigned in 2019. She then became the chair of America First Action. Additionally, she is the board chair of the America First Policy Institute.

Linda McMahon previously served as the CEO of WWE, and she is the wife of Vince McMahon. She resigned from her position in 2009 and got into politics, as she twice ran for the US Senate. She lost in both 2010 and 2012.

CNN’s report cites Open Secrets, which notes that Linda donated over $7 million to pro-Trump super PACs in his first term.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics also reported about Linda McMahon’s donations to Trump throughout his presidential campaigns. Per Thurston, she donated $10 million to Make America Great Again Inc. in 2024, along with others.

Donald Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, and he has appeared on WWE programming multiple times over the years. He was involved in the Battle of the Billionaires against Vince McMahon at WWE WrestleMania 23.
