CM Punk says he wasted some matches on some people in AEW.
Punk’s turbulent run in AEW ended after his second backstage incident at AEW All In 2023. He then returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023. Punk has been outspoken about the end of his time in AEW and the issues that led to it.
Speaking with Peter Rosenberg for Cheap Heat at ComplexCon, CM Punk was asked whether he had any regrets from his AEW run regarding matches that didn’t happen or stories that didn’t get told.
“[Laughs] Do I? It’s such a loaded question.,” CM Punk said. “[Asked if there was someone he didn’t get to tell a story with that he wished he got the chance to.] No. I feel like I wasted some matches on some people, for sure, but that is what it is. Some people understand the business, and some people don’t. I think everybody here understands the business.”

Punk has been absent from WWE programming since the October 7 episode of WWE RAW. There is currently no word on when he will return.
