Gable Steveson: WWE Just Wasn’t The Right Time, I Have No Bad Feelings About It

Gable Steveson discusses his time with WWE.

Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson signed a NIL deal with WWE in 2021. He made a few appearances on WWE programming, and he had a brief run in NXT in 2023. Steveson made his televised in-ring debut at NXT Great American Bash 2023. WWE released Steveson in May. Steveson attempted to transition to the NFL, but the Buffalo Bills released him. He then announced that he was returning to the University of Minnesota for a fifth season.

Speaking at a press conference (via FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul), Gable Steveson was asked to comment on what happened with his WWE run.

“The WWE just wasn’t the right time,” Steveson said. “I had a lot of competitive edge to me, and they knew that. It was not the time for it. So maybe one day, if the stars aligned, it would be a great opportunity to do it again. I have no bad feelings with it, I have no bad blood with it, and I would like to keep moving forward with everything I have going on.”
