Debra Marshall recently got the opportunity to reunite with Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler.
Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler has been facing a lot of medical issues lately. He suffered a few strokes thus prevented him from being present physically on WWE Television. Recently, The WWE Hall of Famer was spotted at Stamford, Connecticut with a former WWE Women’s World Champion in the name of Debra Marshall. Debra shared a picture of the two on her Twitter account.
“@ Hartford Connecticut Saturday 11-16-2024. W/ Jerry “The King” Lawler #WWF #WWE,” Debra tweeted.
Debra and The King worked together in WWE during the Attitude Era. Lawler would share his admiration for her “puppies” while she was in the ring. (Her cookies, on the other hand, were not as well received.)

Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler has signed a Legends Deal with WWE
While speaking to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s WrestleBinge, he addressed the health issues he had faced.
“Well, my health has been a big problem for me lately. First of all, I had a couple of strokes, and that’s what cost me my deal with WWE with my commentating because my voice… it’s not perfect, but it’s not good enough to do commentating. I’m still with them on a Legends contract. The best part of that is, I think, four times a year, I get a nice big check.”
“Do I miss it? No. I just went out there, sat down, and was myself. I don’t know, it was just like another chapter of my life. I got to lay it all out there, and I didn’t think much of it. As a matter of fact, about 10 or 15 minutes before it was over, I was thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, how much longer is this going to last?’ And as soon as it was over, I just got up, went about my business, and left the studio. I just went back to being Jerry Lawler.”
Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler: Commenting on a match again was extremely difficult
While speaking to PWInsider, Lawler mentioned that considering his health issues such as the Stroke, people are convinced that his WWE career has come to an end. Lawler agreed with the people’s sentiments and also shared that he commentating on matches is now extremely difficult.
“One other thing that a lot of people wonder about, my career has probably ended with the WWE,” Lawler said. “it’s just one of those things that go with my getting over with all the stuff that happened with the stroke and it was — my just sitting behind a desk and doing it, commentating on a match again was extremely difficult.”
