Will Ospreay Reflects On Anniversary Of Signing With AEW

Will Ospreay reflects on one year passing since he signed his AEW contract.

On November 18th 2023 at Full Gear, the Englishman was announced as the newest star to join AEW. The Aerial Assassin signed his contract in the ring with Tony Schiavone after seven happy years with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion told the crowd that he wanted to finish up his dates with New Japan, so wouldn’t be joining up with AEW immediately. He worked with the Japanese promotion until the following year and went full-time with AEW in February 2024.

Will Ospreay took to Twitter to reflect on the one-year anniversary of him signing with AEW. He thanked everyone for having him in the company, expressing his gratitude towards the fans and the company.

The former AEW International Champion added that he still wants to accomplish more in AEW in the future.

“It’s been 1 full year being All Elite. My gratitude to this fan base, the roster and everyone that makes @AEW possible. Still so much more I want to accomplish in this company and have big goals to be the headliner one day. Thank you for having me”

Will Ospreay Doesn’t Think He’ll Ever Be 100% Again

While speaking on the Masked Man Show, Will Ospreay mentioned that by performing all these high-risk moves his body is always sore. He also mentioned that his body feels fine but will never feel 100% fit. The Aerial Assassin also appreciated the medical team of AEW.

“The body’s sore but when is it never sore…Everything I do puts [a toll on my body]. For me, I feel fine but I’m never going to be 100%,” Will Ospreay said. [H/T Inside The Ropes]

Ospreay also mentioned that he often tries to adapt to the environment. But at the same time, he does not know if he will ever slow down.

“I find ways of adapting to my environment and adapting to my situations. I don’t really know [if I have a slower gear]…in a weird way motion is the lotion to your body.”
