AEW Rampage Results

Hikaru Shida and Leila Grey Go At It

Hikaru Shida vs. Leila Grey

In the opening match, things ended pretty quickly. Grey tried to steal the match with a rollup quick, but Shida was able to stop it, get some hits in, and then hit the Falcon Arrow within the first five minutes to win.

Winner – Hikaru Shida

Grade: C

This one was…something. Pretty much ended before anything could even happen, but it is nice to see Hikaru Shida pull in another win.

Mark Briscoe Takes On Ariya Daivari

Mark Briscoe vs. Ariya Daivari

Mark Sterling was not a fan of Briscoe’s throughout the entire match here, mocking him as he came down and even trying to get involved late in things. However, Rocky Romero made sure to help, stopping Sterling from interfering late and letting Briscoe launch onto Sterling outside of the ring with a massive splash. Inside the ring, he won with a Froggy Bow against Daivari.

Winner – Mark Briscoe

Grade: B-

This one was more so a vehicle for the Sterling/Romero/Briscoe interaction, and while that was fun, it didn’t do a whole lot to make the match that much more entertaining.

Komander Takes To The Ring

Komander vs. Rocky Romero

Romero was being absolutely dominated for most of the match, but eventually hit a big superplex to flip the momentum. Komander would get a moonsault in retaliation, and tried another but got too cocky, and caught a pair of knees from Romero as a result. Romero hits the Sliced Bread for a near fall, but Komander would take over for the rest of the match.

Things came to an end after Komander hit a massive running powerslam on Romero into the ropes, then hit a tight rope walk shooting star press for the pin and much needed win.

Winner – Komander

Grade: B+

A solid enough affair. After the past few weeks, Komander needed a big win here, and got it. The ending was fun, and both superstars clearly love to work with each other and show off some of their more wild moves.

RUSH & The Beast Mortos Make Short Work Of Opponents

RUSH & The Beast Mortos vs. Richard Holliday & Alec Price

This one is over in all but a few seconds, as La Faccion Ingobernable absolutely dominate their opponents. RUSH hits the Bull’s Horns to end this one and get everyone home quick.

Winner – RUSH & The Beast Mortos

Grade: C

As fun as it is to watch a squash match sometimes, they are still squash matches. LFI continues to be a great group, though.

Backstage, MVP is being interviewed and says that some AEW wrestlers need to be taught a lesson and be beaten down to their knees so they can get up and learn to be better. He then laughed off Swerve Strickland’s arrogance, saying there’s no way he could beat three men, and said he wouldn’t even be watching Ricochet in the main event tonight.

As for Komander, though? MVP said he was impressed by the superstar tonight, and wants to see how he’ll fare against Shelton Benjamin tomorrow on Collision.

Ricochet And Dante Martin Collide In The Main Event

Ricochet vs. Dante Martin

It’s time for the main event, and Ricochet and Martin wasted little to no time before engaging in some incredibly athletic moves. The camera keeps cutting to MVP, who, despite saying he didn’t care what Ricochet did tonight, sure looks pretty engaged. Martin hits a massive flip move off the ropes for a near fall, which Ricochet trades with a Northern Lights suplex and brainbuster for a near fall of his own.

Later in the match, Ricochet would capitalize on a big mistake by Martin, catching him in mid-air and hitting a big move on him for a near fall. Ricochet then hit his finisher for the big win, leaving a very impressed MVP watching from the monitor backstage. Ricochet and Martin shook hands to close out the night.

Winner – Ricochet

Grade: B+

The past few weeks of Rampage have been saving up the fun ones for the end, and tonight is no different. Ricochet and Martin went at it from the start here, and it was tons of fun to watch. Ricochet’s next interaction with MVP will be worth watching, as well.

AEW Rampage Review

Grade: C+

Overall, this was a pretty weak show by All Elite Wrestling’s standards, to be quite honest. The Ricochet/Dante Martin match made up for it a little, and Komander/Rocky Romero was a fun watch, but there was a lot of mostly quick and easy matches along the way. See ya next week, folks.
