Matt Hardy believes that Mike Bailey will do great in AEW.
On November 14, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Mike Bailey’s TNA contract had expired, and he was expected to be bound for AEW.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy commented on Mike Bailey reportedly coming to AEW. He said that he was an ideal fit for the company.
“I think he is an ideal fit for AEW, especially with their style and kind of the matches they are typically looking for to produce on their television,” Matt Hardy said. “He’s gonna do great out there. I have nothing but the greatest things to say about Mike Bailey.
“My time working with him had been a pleasure. He really gets it. He gets the idea of classic wrestling and storytelling a lot better than I expected him to because I knew he was a guy that did all these flashy, super cool moves. He’s a great athlete, but he’s got a great mind. Big fan of Mike Bailey. I think he’s got a ton of potential, and just a real sweetheart of a human being.”
Matt Hardy Hopes AEW Allows Mike Bailey To Stand Out
Hardy also noted that he would have loved to see Bailey get an opportunity in NXT. He then said that he hoped that Bailey would not get lost in the shuffle in AEW.
“The one concern I may have with him at AEW, because there are so many people that have these amazing styles and these high work rates,” Hardy said. “I just hope that he doesn’t get lost in the shuffle with everyone else there. I just hope they allow him to stand out in the way that Speedball Mike Bailey really can stand out.”
