TNA Wrestling has reportedly suffered a major blow to its roster with the loss of Speedball Mike Bailey.
Last week on TNA iMPACT, Moose defeated Speedball to capture the X-Division Championship. Following the match, Trent Seven turned on Bailey and left him lying to end the show. But it now sounds like we’ll never get a payoff to the closing angle.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Speedball Mike Bailey’s contract with TNA Wrestling expired on November 1. Bailey didn’t appear at TNA’s recent set of tapings last week.
On November 8, Bailey filed to trademark his ring name with the USPTO on November 8.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) has also backed up this report and states that Bailey is expected to get interest from a number of companies, noting that Bailey was backstage at an AEW event over the summer and at one point had agreed to a deal to sign with WWE several years ago.
Sapp believes there will be people in both WWE and AEW pushing management to sign Bailey to a contract.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information Speedball Mike Bailey’s free agent status as it becomes available.
