Matt Riddle Initially Pitched Riding A Dirt Bike Instead Of A Scooter In WWE

Matt Riddle had a very different vision for his WWE entrance.

Major League Wrestling‘s Matt Riddle was a recent guest on Rasslin’. When asked about coming to the ring on a scooter, Riddle admitted that wasn’t actually his idea. Riddle says he wanted to come out on a dirt bike instead.

“It wasn’t my idea. I actually suggested a dirt bike,” Riddle revealed. “I had an idea of the dirt bike, and Vince was in complete control at that time, and he’s like, ‘A scooter.’ And then I go, ‘What about a skateboard?’ But then everybody in AEW was doing skateboards, so I didn’t do that.”

Based on the popularity Riddle reached in WWE while coming to the ring on a scooter, we have to believe that Vince McMahon made the right call at the time.

Jim Ross on Matt Riddle

Riddle showing up in AEW might be unlikely, but Jim Ross believes he should at least be given a chance. Ross shared his thoughts on Riddle potentially coming to AEW during a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast.

“I don’t know if there’s an opportunity there or not,” Jim Ross said (via Fightful). “If they decided — I would suggest that he’d be given a shot. I understand Tony’s reluctance because Matt has a little baggage. How much that baggage weighs, I don’t know, but I know he’s a very talented kid, got a great look. He’s got that Kevin Von Erich look. He wrestles barefoot. I’ll never say never, I don’t know that it’s even on the drawing board, have no idea, that’s a Tony Khan thing, not nothing I’m involved in.”
