AEW Collision Results

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with House of Black in action against Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson.

House of Black vs. Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson

  • The finish of the match saw House of Black hit their corner triple team move on Jacked Jameson. Brody King scores the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: House of Black

After the match, FTR comes to the ring. Cash Wheeler says they come in peace. Dax Harwood says over the last four and a half years he’s made it his life mission to be the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Harwood says he’s put those titles above everything and nothing changes except for the obstacle.

Harwood wants to know which two men they will be facing on Dynamite this Wednesday. Malakai Black and Brody King step forward and Black tells them good luck. Wheeler and Harwood leave the ring.

Grade: B

This was a fun squash match. I’m a big fan of seeing Iron Savages get flattened so that was certainly a plus. The faceoff with FTR following the match sealed the deal for me. Great stuff to kick off the show.

Lio Rush wants Swerve Strickland on Dynamite

Lio Rush is backstage and says there is a shift happening and everyone can feel it. Rush says he’s held onto the card from MVP regarding The Hurt Syndicate. Rush talks about his recent wins and says he’s heating up and he’s feeling great, but he wants to feel greater. Lio Rush challenges Swerve Strickland to a match this Wednesday on Dynamite.

AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party came out to watch the next match from the stage.

Full Gear Contender’s Match: The Outrunners vs. Top Flight (w/ Leila Grey)

  • The finish of the match saw The Outrunners hit Total Recall on Dante Martin to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: The Outrunners

Grade: C+

It was a good tag match. I’m just having trouble buying The Outrunners as a legitimate top-tag team in AEW right now. While I will admit the duo is growing on me from an entertainment aspect, I’m just not sold on them completely yet. I feel a lot of story investment has been put into Top Flight in recent weeks, and I hope they have a plan for where it’s going.

Will The Acclaimed or LFI advance to Full Gear?

The Acclaimed is backstage. Anthony Bowens and Max Caster hype up their match with LFI next weekend on Collision. They are interrupted by The Hurt Syndicate. MVP buries the promo and how they are acting and Bowens gets angry and tells MVP they aren’t interested and walks away. MVP tells Caster he knows he still has the card before he walks away as well.

Roderick Strong vs. The Beast Mortos

  • The finish of the match saw Roderick Strong hit The Beast Mortos with a jumping knee to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Roderick Strong

After the match, Lance Archer attacks Roderick Strong and hits him with Blackout. It’s pretty obvious we now know who his third opponent is.

Grade: A-

My favorite match from the show so far. This was a really hard-hitting match. Roderick Strong and The Beast Mortos worked very well together. I doubt we’ll see a rematch any time soon, but I wouldn’t be upset if we did. I really enjoyed that!

Anna Jay issues a challenge for Dynamite

We get a video package from AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May who says her prime is being wasted because there isn’t a woman in the company that can touch her. May says she will be the one to kill women’s wrestling because no one can beat her.

Anna Jay is backstage and isn’t thrilled about what May just said and challenges her to a rubber match for the title this Wednesday on Dynamite. Jay says she wants a no disqualification match and if she loses she’ll never challenge May for the title again.

Kris Statlander vs. Ashley Vox

  • The finish of the match saw Kris Statlander hit Ashley Vox with Staturday Night Fever to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kris Statlander

Mercedes Moné attacks Statlander after the back with the Backstabber and the Bank Statement. Mercedes poses with her TBS Championship afterward.

Grade: N/A

The match was WAY too quick to grade. It was a super quick squash match. Mercedes getting the better of Statlander after the match was a good thing as they continued to build heat for their title match at Full Gear.

Backstage RUSH talks sense into The Beast Mortos after losing to Roderick Strong earlier in the evening. The trio and Jake Roberts turn their attention to their match with The Acclaimed next week and RUSH reminds The Acclaimed that when you mess with the bull… you get the horns!

AEW TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs. Action Andretti

  • The finish of the match saw Jack Perry hit Action Andretti with two V-Triggers to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Still Champion, Jack Perry

After the match, Daniel Garcia comes to the ring and says he disagrees with Perry on a lot of things but the thing he disagrees most is the fact he says they’re a lot alike. Garcia says he doesn’t care about anybody else but himself and that’s where they are different. Garcia says he’ll never be anything like him, but he will be the next TNT Champion at Full Gear.

Jack Perry tells Daniel Garcia he can have the match at Full Gear, but he’s not ready. Perry walks away leaving Garcia alone in the ring.

Grade: B+

This was a damn good match between Perry and Andretti. Perry continues to impress in his role as TNT Champion but I’m pretty sure after Full Gear we’ll all be calling Daniel Garcia the new AEW TNT Champion. And let’s be real, this title win for Garcia is a long time coming.

A very creepy vignette airs for Julia Hart. It appears she’s on her way back to All Elite Wrestling soon. You can check out the vignette in the embedded post below.

Daniel Garcia is backstage with Daddy Magic. Daddy Magic says he knows Perry says Garcia isn’t ready for their match at Full Gear but that’s not true. Daddy Magic says all Garcia needs to do is go and prove him and everyone else right.

Nick Wayne (w/ Mother Wayne and Kip Sabian) vs. AR Fox

  • Nick Wayne hits AR Fox with a double under hook flipping piledriver to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Nick Wayne staples a photo of AR Fox’s dead father to his forehead.

Winner: Nick Wayne

Grade: B+

Nick Wayne and AR Fox know each other very well. It’s no surprise the two had a great match together. The aftermath is very odd as it seems like they are trying to force Christian Cage’s father gimmick onto Wayne. I’m not convinced this is going to work. I guess we’ll see where it goes in the coming weeks.

MxM Collection x Johnny TV = AEW Collision

MxM Collection is backstage waiting on a DM response from Johnny TV about teaming up next week on AEW Collision. Johnny TV tells them that he already has a match next week against Daniel Garcia but they can come out with him to ringside. They attempt to do Johnny TV’s exit from the promo but their guy screws things up and they get upset with him.

AEW World Trios Titles: The Death Riders (c) vs. The Conglomeration

  • The finish of the match saw Marina Shafir get involved which led to Wheeler Yuta hitting Kyle O’Reilly with the Busaiku knee to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Still Champions, The Death Riders

Grade: B+

After the match, Orange Cassidy hits Yuta with the Orange Punch before diving into The Death Riders outside of the ring. There’s a full-blown brawl at ringside which is won by The Conglomeration as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review:

I thought this was a good episode of Collision tonight. A few really good matches and more story progression on the road to Full Gear later this month. The two hours flew by pretty quickly and that’s always a good sign of an entertaining show.
