There has been a new update in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.
Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling reports that Dr. Carlon Colker and his Peak Wellness clinic have asked the Connecticut Superior Court to dismiss Janel Grant’s petition, which seeks to obtain evidence from him.
Colker’s attorneys argue that they already gave Janel Grant’s legal team “electronic copies of the medical and billing records she’s seeking”, and they provided the court with copies of the emails they sent when sharing the records.
As previously reported, Janel Grant filed a petition with the state court in July, seeking records for her visits to Peak Wellness, which she alleged that Vince McMahon directed her to go to. Grant also alleges that Colker treated her with “pills and infusions without telling her the substance” of what she was taking. Furthermore, Grant aims to “conduct discovery” on Colker and his clinic, seeking to obtain his communications with McMahon as well as evidence related to Colker recommending an attorney that she worked with to negotiate her non-disclosure agreement with Vince McMahon and WWE.
Janel Grant’s Lawyer Responds
Per Thurston, Ann Callis, an attorney for Janel Grant, responded in a statement and said that the defendants are holding onto documents to avoid being used.
“By his own admission, Dr. Colker’s filing today all but confirms they have withheld the requested records for fear they could lead to further legal action against him,” Callis said. “Ms. Grant deserves answers, and we respectfully ask the court to compel Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness to provide her with long overdue clarity.”
