Johnny Gargano thinks the new WWE ID initiative can get the best out of wrestling’s future stars.
Last month, WWE launched its new ID program. This is a new developmental program that will aid independent wrestling schools and talent in finding potential WWE Superstars. The program will support indie prospects and ID-designated schools with “world-class training, development and mentorship.”
Johnny Gargano recently spoke with Gorilla Position. He was asked about how the combination of indie wrestling and the WWE performance will be for the new WWE ID talents.
The former NXT Champion called it “absolutely fantastic”, and thinks resources like the performance center can only help the wrestling business going forward.
“Absolutely fantastic! I mean, I think this is such a great idea for someone who personally trained in, like, a little basement and then trained in a garage with no heat and things like that. For talent nowadays to be able to be given the best possible things to work with. They have great minds to work with. The WWE Performance Center has such a state-of-the-art facility. For upcoming talent to be able to get those resources now, I think it can only help the wrestling business.”
Johnny Gargano Reacts To Indi Hartwell, Baron Corbin, Tegan Nox Release
Johnny Gargano can’t wait to see what the recently released WWE stars do on the indies.
Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox were recently released by the WWE and look set to take the indie scene by storm. At least, according to Johnny Gargano, who called all three “incredibly talented”.
“Yeah, I mean, obviously, I have such a great relationship with Indi—that’s very well known. We love her; she’s like a daughter to us. And for those three, I think they’re incredibly talented. Personally, like we talked about the indie scene, I cannot wait to see what those three do. I think they’re absolutely going to tear it up because they are incredibly talented, have so much to offer, and I’m very excited to see what they do next.”
