Mercedes Moné wants to see the women in AEW get their own TV show.
The former WWE star was at the forefront of the WWE women’s revolution back in 2015. She also competed at WWE Evolution back in 2018, which was WWE’s first and only female-only pay-per-view event. She teamed with Bayley and Natalya against the Riott Squad. With that in mind, there is no reason why AEW couldn’t do the same in the near future.
Mercedes Moné appeared on the Battleground Podcast, where she was asked about the possibility if an all-woman weekly AEW Show or pay-per-view event. The TBS Champion thinks there is definitely an opportunity. She listed out all the incredible female wrestlers they have on the roster. She called the idea of an all-women’s AEW PPV “amazing”, adding that a women’s revolution in AEW is already happening.
“Absolutely. I mean, we have the talent, so why not an All Elite Women’s Wrestling show? We have the best women wrestlers in the business—like Willow, Mariah May, Toni Storm, Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander, and Kamille. There’s definitely an opportunity to have an all-women’s show every single week, so I don’t see why not.”
“We have a roster full of talented wrestlers. With a long list of women, we could even hold a women’s pay-per-view. Just given the chance and opportunity—and if Tony [Khan] sees that—I don’t see why we couldn’t have a women’s revolution right here in AEW. It’s already happening! The women are killing it every single week.”
“I’m just beyond amazed to be a part of this women’s division. From Willow and Kris Statlander’s street fight to Willow and Mariah May’s recent match, it’s all been incredible. An all-women’s AEW pay-per-view would be amazing.”
