Trevor Lee Believes He’ll Be Back In WWE One Day

Trevor Lee understands why WWE let him go but doesn’t think he’s done with the WWE.

The former Cameron Grimes was let go from the company in April this year. He was called up to the main roster in early 2023 but struggled for TV time when Vince McMahon would remove him from scripts just before the shows.

Trevor Lee spoke with Denise Salcedo to discuss his WWE release. The former Cameron Grimes understood his release, noting he’d wrestled nine matches on TV in just seven years.

“I was getting all the reassurance from everyone—from Hunter, from everyone—and they’re telling me they know how good I am. But it’s about finding that spot, finding that moment. When you’re part of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, you have to make those decisions. When it’s time to show the spreadsheets, the budgets, and everything, tough cuts are part of it. And when I’ve had only nine matches in two years… well, you have to consolidate.”

“I understood that. And having the stock gimmick taught me a lot about how business really works. I was aware it could happen, but everyone was telling me I was okay, that I was good, that I’d be fine. And I believe that—they were right. “

Trevor Lee: I’ll Be Back In WWE

Trevor Lee continued, revealing that he believes he is not done with WWE forever. He thinks he’ll be back one day, and notes that he’s 17 years into his career despite only being 31 years old.

“I do believe that I’ll be okay, that I’ll be fine, and that I’ll be back in WWE. Look at the top talent now—they’re in their mid-40s. I’m talking to you today at 31 years old, heading into my 17th year as a professional wrestler. And in the past couple of years, I’ve been extremely healthy because I haven’t been working much. I’ve used that time to get my body in shape, to stay healthy, so that in 15 years—even if it takes that long—I’ll still be ready mentally and physically for any opportunity. It’s still exciting.”
