AEW Rampage Results

Trios Match Kicks Off The Show

La Faccion Ingobernable vs. The Butcher, Beef & JD Drake

This one was a pretty quick affair, although there was some solid moments throughout. Beef had a hot tag midway through the match and absolutely took down most of LFI before dropping Rush with a big punch to the face. Dralistico was able to flip the momentum, though, and swept Beef’s legs to drop him to the ground. Eventually, Butcher was left all alone in the ring, and Rush hit the Bull’s Horns on him for the pin and win.

Winner – La Faccion Ingobernable

Grade – B

This one was not much of a showstopper, but all six competitors are still some of the most fun in the company, so it was enjoyable.

Taya Valkyrie Goes To Work

Taya Valkyrie vs. Zoey Lynn

Valkyrie pretty much ended the match immediately. She dropped Lynn with a lariat, ate some punches from her opponent and then threw her down before stomping on her head for the win.

After the match, cameras followed Valkyrie and Deonna Purrazzo behind the curtain, and Stokely Hathaway told them that Lynn was talking trash behind their ring, causing Valkyrie to go back out to the ring and continue her beatdown.

Winner – Taya Valkyrie

Grade – C

It was nice to see Taya get a dominant win, but this was essentially a whole lot of nothing tonight. The aftermatch of the match was probably more enjoyable than anything else.

Queen Aminata And Leila Grey Go At It

Queen Aminata vs. Leila Grey

Aminata and Grey start things off hot, with Grey losing her wig almost immediately thanks to a big suplex from the Queen herself. Grey and Aminata traded blows and pin attempts, before Aminata hit a running slam onto her. She then locked in a sleeper on Grey and tried to get her to tap, but ended up hitting another suplex when Grey wouldn’t tap out.

Later in the match, Aminata dropped the ball, as Grey hit a big running knee followed up by a blockbuster. However, Aminata kicked out, then dropped down Grey and locked her in a painful looking pretzel lock of sorts for the tap out win.

Winner – Queen Aminata

Grade – B-

Finally, a solid match! Aminata and Grey put on a show here and man, was it fun. Aminata sticking to the submission attempts made for some great action, and Grey nearly stole one late that got the crowd going.

Another Trios Match

Dark Order vs. Top Flight & Action Andretti

Alex Reynolds clearly wasn’t 100% to start, with his stomach taped up and a clear hobble in his movement. Reynolds tried to set up a pendulum bomb on Darius Martin, but couldn’t even lift him up before falling to the ground. Andretti was clearly ready to take advantage and tried to pull the bandages off, but Dante was trying to stop him.

Andretti then hit a massive knee on Reynold’s ribs, and ripped the bandages off before beginning to target him. From there, the match was all but secured, as Andretti kept targeting Reynold’s ribs before hitting a big moonsault for the win.

Winner – Top Flight & Action Andretti

Grade – B

This was more of a set up match than anything, as it set a nice potential feud into motion. Reynolds couldn’t do much in the ring, but seeing the arguments between Andretti and Top Flight and the subsequent end of the match was a ton of fun.

Komander and Lio Rush Close Out The Show

Lio Rush vs. Komander

The night came to an end with both Komander and Rush trading high-flying, athletic moves back and forth. Rush hits a stunner on Komander late but isn’t able to get the pin in time, but is still good enough to hit a powerbomb, a Falcon Arrow, and then another big move to try and close things out. Komander keeps kicking out, though, leading to a frustrating Rush to keep attacking.

Late in the match, Rush would go up for a frog splash and miss, allowing Komander to hit a big kick before going for a tight-rope walk shooting star press for the win.

Winner – Komander

Grade – B+

It’s always fun to see these two guys going at it. Rush not being able to secure the win was some fun stuff, and the crowd was into Komander being able to kick out of any and everything.

AEW Rampage Review

Grade – C+

Overall, a pretty solid show, but when more than half of the matches are nothing but quick squashes or stuff to set up for the future, it’s hard to be too excited about the show.
