Baron Corbin’s time with WWE is coming to an end.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Corbin was informed by WWE that his contract would expire, and he would not be re-signed. Further details are currently unclear.
Baron Corbin seemingly confirmed his departure in a tweet and thanked everyone who supported him
Sapp later wrote that internal speculation was that Corbin’s deal runs until the end of 2024. It was noted that Corbin had been a regular backstage at SmackDown, and he had competed in several dark matches.
Baron Corbin’s WWE Run
Corbin had been with WWE since signing a developmental deal in 2012. He moved to the main roster in 2016. During his time in WWE, Corbin won the WWE United States Championship, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, as well as the King of the Ring tournament. He returned to NXT in 2023 and later won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Bron Breakker.
Corbin returned to the main roster as part of the WWE Draft in April 2024, and he formed a team with Apollo Crews. He last wrestled on WWE television on the August 30 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he and Crews lost to Los Garza. Corbin’s last bout was a dark match at the WWE SmackDown taping on October 18.
