On October 30, WWE announced that Rhea Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital socket, and new reports provide an update on the situation.
Ripley appeared on the October 29 episode of WWE NXT. There, she was attacked in the parking lot by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. WWE announced her injury the next day.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that sources believe that the legitimate injury likely happened when Rhea Ripley headbutted Morgan on the October 21 episode of WWE RAW. He noted that the angle on NXT was a late addition to the show. Johnson wrote that Ripley has been pulled from the WWE RAW taping in Saudi Arabia this weekend. Per Johnson, there is no word on a timeline for her return.
More Details On Rhea Ripley’s Injury
In the newest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported more information about the injury. He wrote that Rhea Ripley had been set for a match with Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Crown Jewel. However, WWE had to change their plans. The report suggests that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match may have replaced the bout.
Meltzer also reiterated what Johnson wrote about Ripley’s injury itself.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
