Nick Gage Says He Was In Rehab, Moved On From GCW

Nick Gage opens up about his recent whereabouts.

In February 2022, Game Changer Wrestling owner Brett Lauderdale confirmed that Nick Gage had signed an exclusive multi-year contract with his promotion. Once that deal expired, the pair eventually moved to a handshake agreement. Now, Gage’s tenure with GCW is over, not necessarily forever though.

While speaking with Blvd Bullies, Gage addressed his relationship with Lauderdale and his status with GCW. In doing so, Gage was clear that, no matter what, GCW will always be like home.

“First off, Brett Lauderdale is my friend, my best friend. He’s done a lot for my career. GCW is always going to be my home,” Gage said. “I love Brett. I love his family. Sometimes, you have to move on in your career. Sometimes you don’t see eye to eye with your friends. It is what it is. Maybe down the road we can sit down…it’s business, it’s a little bit of everything. Life moves on. You have to keep trucking.”

Nick Gage Confirms Stint In Rehab

Gage’s last GCW appearance came on August 2, when and Matt Hardy fought to a no contest at the Now And Forever event. In Gage’s absence, rumors suggested that he went to rehab. Gage himself later confirmed this to be the case while clarifying that he left rehab on his own accord.

“I am proud that I went there; I will never apologize for that,” Gage said. “I was exhausted; I was headed down the wrong path. I’m glad I noticed that and that I had people in my corner. I’m glad I went there. It helped me out. I will never apologize for going there. Nobody made me leave that place. I’m a grown ass man. Nobody makes me do anything. I left because I felt good. I was good.” (H/T Fightful)
