AJ Styles says it was his decision not to go into the TNA Hall of Fame, not WWE’s.
On October 27, Fightful Select reported that TNA broached the possibility of inducting AJ Styles into their Hall of Fame, but WWE passed. This led some fans to incorrectly state that WWE denied Styles the opportunity to go into TNA’s Hall of Fame.
Styles took to social media to clarify, as he tweeted that he made the decision not to go into TNA’s Hall of Fame, not WWE. He stated that he appreciated TNA, but he did not want to go into any Hall of Fame as long as he was still an active wrestler.
Styles was the face of TNA for many years. During his time with the company, he held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice. He was also the inaugural TNA X-Division Champion, among many other accolades.
On the October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles returned to WWE programming and suffered a mid-foot ligament sprain. He has been sidelined ever since, and there is no official word on when he will return.
