D-Von Dudley has given some crucial advice to aspiring wrestlers looking for somewhere to learn.
As one half of The Dudley Boys, D-Von was one of the best tag team wrestlers in WWE history. Their iconic ladder matches with The Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian have gone down in history, changing tag team wrestling forever.
Since retiring, he has been running his own wrestling school, while also launching his own line of cigars. Finding the right wrestling school is crucial to one’s education, so D-Von Dudley has given his advice to trainees looking to become WWE Superstars.
D-Von Dudley spoke with Rodolfo Roman and was asked about what advice he would give to trainees looking to break into the wrestling business. The WWE Hall of Famer said that they should always find a reputable wrestling school. He emphasised that they find somebody who “made it” to train them, not just somebody who sets up a ring in a warehouse.
He made the point that if the teacher never “made it”, how can he teach his students to become stars in the business?
“Don’t just go to a wrestling school run by someone who opened up a warehouse and put a ring in it.” D-Von Dudley warned. “Go to someone who’s been somewhere, who can actually guide you on how to get there. If the person you choose hasn’t made it themselves, then how are they going to help you make it?
“My advice to aspiring wrestlers is to make sure you go to a reputable wrestling school, one that has real backing. Know who your teacher is, and make sure they know what they’re doing. Otherwise, the chances of you making it are slim.”
