JBL has commented on his shock appearance at TNA Bound For Glory.
The former WWE Champion has been making numerous appearances alongside Nic Nemeth recently, as well as in promotions like GCW. Having spent decades in WWE, he is finally getting the chance to appear outside of the company. JBL has helped Nic Nemeth win matches in Mexico and TNA in recent months, and looks to have formed somewhat of a partnership with his fellow former WWE Superstar.
This became even clearer at TNA Bound For Glory. During the match between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry for the TNA World Championship, referee Frankie Kazarian attempted to cash in his “Call Your Shot” opportunity on the champion.
However, JBL made his way through the crowd, stopping Kazarian in his tracks. He hit the TNA legend with a huge clothesline. He followed this up with one for Hendry, before knocking out Ryna Nemeth for good measure.
Apparently unaware of what had happened, Nic Nemeth simply pinned Hendry to win the match. His future with JBL is unclear, but the former WWE Champion took to Twitter after his appearance to comment on his actions at Bound For Glory.
JBL wrote on Twitter that he was “the keeper”, and a “guardian of professional wrestling”. This could hint at his new character in TNA, possibly being an enforcer to stop any rulebreaking or tomfoolery.
“I am the Keeper, guardian of professional wrestling.” JBL wrote on Twitter.
Time will tell how involved JBL will be in TNA in the near future.
