A few weeks after returning to AEW, Adam Cole will make his official in-ring return next week on AEW’s special Fright Night Dynamite episode.
During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Cole was challenged to a match by Buddy Matthews following a win by House of Black. In a backstage segment, Cole addressed the challenge to Matthews directly, asking if Buddy had a problem with him. Matthews said that he just wants to prove one simple thing, and it’s that Cole is fragile.
For Cole, it’ll be his first match back in the ring since he suffered a broken ankle at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in 2023. He has not wrestled since AEW All Out 2023.
The updated card for the October 30 AEW Fright Night Dynamite is as follows:
- Swerve Strickland vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Kris Statlander vs. Kamille
- Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Private Party
