Bobby Lashley saw the WWE’s treatment of the Hurt Business as a “spit in the face”.
The group was one of the shining lights during the pandemic era. Sadly, the group never got to wrestle in front of fans, and have since been released by the WWE.
During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Bobby Lashley revealed how WWE’s treatment of the Hurt Business was a “spit in the face”.
Bobby Lashley revealed that they were some of the few wrestlers who put the work in during the pandemic era. Despite this, they did not reunite in front of fans and never got that extended run.
“It was kind of a spit in the face towards the end,” Lashley said. “We never were in front of a live crowd. During the pandemic, a lot of the guys kind of sat back home, ‘I’m not gonna do it, I don’t wanna do that.’. Then there’s us saying, ‘this works, let’s get going’. We did everything, we were on half the show most of the time. We were doing everything that a lot of people wanted to do.”
“Then we came out of the pandemic and all these people started resurfacing, ‘I’m ready to work, I’m ready to work’. What about the guys who were putting the time in during this dangerous time we were having?”
“We got overlooked. That was a little bit of a spit in the face. I think we could have come back and done some big things together. They just didn’t want us. Different strokes for different folks. Different people like different things. When the regime changed, the regime wasn’t too high on me at all and were definitely not high on [MVP and Shelton Benjamin], because they were the first people they got rid of,” Bobby Lashley added.
