According to Mark Briscoe, the AEW Continental Classic is set to start soon.
Speaking with Adam Barnard for Foundation Radio, Mark Briscoe was asked about potentially challenging for the AEW Continental Championship. He revealed that the Continental Classic tournament is set to begin on Thanksgiving Eve. Briscoe also expressed his interest in being part of it.
“Season is coming up. That’s Thanksgiving Eve, that’s the start of the Continental Classic. With Okada being the current Continental Champion, he’s the focal point. He’s the target. But I feel like the Continental Classic last year, in my singles career, it was almost like a coming-out party. I got the chance to wrestle four guys in my block, and I don’t think anybody knew what I could do in singles competition. I’m looking forward to it, man.
“I’m looking forward to hopefully being in the Continental Classic this year and hopefully being in the Continental Classic this year, but one way is the other, I would love to take on Okada.”
As of this writing, AEW has not confirmed when the Continental Classic will begin. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
Mark Briscoe will defend the ROH World Championship against Chris Jericho on the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite.
