ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe says Chris Jericho doesn’t know when to shut up.
During the feud between Chris Jericho and Mark Briscoe, Jericho has brought up Mark’s late brother, Jay, on multiple occasions. The two will clash again in a Ladder War on the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Speaking with Adam Barnard for Foundation Radio, Mark Briscoe discussed the upcoming match.
“Jericho, he just don’t know when to shut up,” he said. “He don’t know when to quit running his mouth. I know he’s made a career of recreating himself and reinventing himself and all these different personas and all these different characters. Well, his new character is gonna be the guy that gets his ass whooped by Mark Briscoe on a damn near weekly or biweekly basis because he just don’t know when to shut up, man. He’s real slick with it, what do they call it, passive aggressive. He’ll say something like, ‘I’m gonna be a two-time Ring of Honor Champion, just like Jay Briscoe.’ Yeah, okay, if you should happen to win, then okay, I get it.
“You will be a two-time Ring of Honor Champion just like Jay Briscoe. But the shitiness that it just comes forth, it just comes from a shitty place, it’s like, man, you’re barking up the wrong tree. You’re playing with fire. To me, it’s not even about the title on Wednesday because I think I proved my point in a one-on-one wrestling match at WrestleDream. But now he just wants to keep running his mouth, like he’s just trying his best to stay relevant, but I’m the wrong one.
Mark Briscoe: Chris Jericho Doesn’t Know When To Shut Up
Briscoe continued by saying that he was not the one to mess with, and he would take Jericho down. He said that Jericho made a mistake, and he would make him pay for it.
“I’m not the one that you want to do that with because I’ll put you out of the game,” Mark Briscoe said. “This will be your swan song, this will be it for you. You might not be able to get up and walk for a couple days. I’m the wrong one, man. I’m a violent individual.
“Me and my brother, we came into this game with just blinders, where violence is all that we wanna do, all that we’re good at is just hurting people. Chris Jericho made a big mistake, and this might very well be it for him. This might be the end of his long career just because he don’t know when to shut his mouth.”
